The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, accompanied by Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, met with Sarkis of Arewa community of South West Nigeria on Thursday.
Senator Shettima held the meeting at the palace of Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Alhaji Mohammad Abubakar Bambado II, in Surulere, Lagos State.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Ganduje thanked the royal fathers for the warm reception from them and their subjects.
The APC vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, equally thanked the South West Arewa royal fathers as well as their district heads and other Sarkis from within the South West region, who made it to the palace to receive him and his entourage.
He further urged all that were present to support the APC and its movement in order to enable it promote as well as achieve good and positive change for the country.
The Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos and Chairman Council of Arewa Chiefs, Alhaji Aminu Idris Yaro, thanked APC vice presidential candidate and Kano governor for the visit as, he said, “this has lifted the spirit of the people.”
However, the royal father urged the political leaders to keep to their promise and work with dedication, promising that he on his own part will ensure his influence to educate and sensitise his subjects to obtain Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and vote wisely.
Aside Alhaji Yaro, others on ground to receive Shettima and his entourage on Thursday included the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Alhaji Mohammad Abubakar Bambado II, who is Chairman South West Council of Fulani Chiefs and Vice Chairman Arewa Council of Chiefs.
Also present at the palace of Sarkin Fulani of Lagos was Hajiya Hadiza Bala, former Managing Director of Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) and APC presidential campaign member.
