The Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) has joined numerous mourners as it expresses deep sadness over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who died in a London clinic on Sunday July 13, 2025.

The Society’s condolence message was contained in a statement signed by SDNON President Dr. Adeniyi Ifetayo, and circulated to members.
According to the statement, “President Buhari was a significant figure in Nigeria’s political history, serving both as a military Head of State and as a democratically elected President.
“His tenure was marked by efforts to combat corruption, address security challenges, and shape national discourse on governance and accountability.
“As digital media practitioners, we recognize President Buhari’s lasting impact on Nigeria’s democratic path and national history.”
SDNON also extended its heartfelt commiseration to the people of Ijebu Land over the demise of the Awujale of Ijebu Land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
“The revered monarch, who reigned for 65 years, was a symbol of wisdom, tradition, and progress. His passing, occurring on the same day as former President Buhari, represents a double loss to the nation.
“We mourn the departure of this distinguished traditional ruler who significantly shaped Ijebuland, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large,” said the Society of Digital Newspapers Owners of Nigeria.
SDNON extended heartfelt condolences to the Buhari family, the royal family of Ijebu Land, the government, and the people of Nigeria.
“We join the nation in praying for the peaceful repose of their souls as they are laid to rest.
“May Almighty Allah grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and give their families the strength to bear these losses,” it said.
