Retired Navy officers’ wives feed residents of Navy Town Barracks

The Retired Naval Officers’ Wives Association (RNOWA), on Saturday November 23, 2024, staged a feeding outreach programme at Navy Town Barracks, Ojo in Lagos State, aimed at providing food and support to residents within the barracks.
According to the National Coordinator of RNOWA, Dame Julie Kpokpogri, the programme was designed to cater for the association’s primary constituency, with a second phase specifically targeting widows.
“The current economic situation in the country can be challenging for many. As an association, we felt it was essential to give back to our community, especially as Christmas approaches,” Dame Kpokpogri explained.
In addition to the feeding outreach, RNOWA also visited the Naval Reference Hospital, Ojo, where its leadership provided food and support to patients on admission in the hospital.
Dame Kpokpogri expressed gratitude to RNOWA members, donors, and the press for their support and coverage of the event.
The event was attended by several officials, including Chibuzor Ngozi C, Dr. Roseline Mbachi, Mrs. Esther Ewu, Lt. Cdr. Mrs. Akinde Oyenike, and others.
Lt Cdr WD Ibrahim, representing the Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship Wey (NNS WEY), commended RNOWA for their humanitarian gesture, particularly during these challenging economic times.
The feeding outreach program demonstrates RNOWA’s commitment to giving back to their community and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
