The National Secretariat of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Abuja, on Thursday, says Allah is worthy of praises that 104 of 110 of Dapchi school, one other girl and a boy abducted on different occasions by Boko Haram insurgents have been returned safely.

President Muhammadu Buhari had told visiting United States Secretary of State Rex Litterson, recently, that he was being careful over the effort to get the girls released in order for him to ensure that they returned home and return to their families alive.

President Buhari explained his government had chosen the option of negotiation therefore to achieve that, which under 30 days after the February 19 occurrence paid off early morning of Wednesday.

The Muslim Students’ Society in a statement issued on Thursday copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER, rejoiced with government, parents of the girls and other people of Nigeria over the delightful development and prayed for the condoled on the five that were unable to make the return.

The leading group of the Muslim students in Nigeria said, “It is with total gratitude to the will of Allah that we use this medium to felicitate with our fellows (the 106 abductee girls of Government Science and Technical School, Dapchi-Yobe State), their parents, relations, governments and the entirety of Nigerians for their much-prayed-for-return today.  We indeed have every reason to make some sigh of relief with this uncommon development. May the remaining one be speedily returned and reunited with her families. May Allah repose the lives of the departed in Jannatil firdausi.  May the nightmarish incidence of their abduction never be repeated at all in the country.

“Beyond the jubilations, we, as the mouthpiece of the Nigerian Muslim students, do unequivocally appeal to the federal government to adequately and dispassionately investigate the circumstances of the abduction and bizarre return of the girls in the manner in which both happened. We believe there is more than meets the eye. In addition, anyone found culpable in the issues, no matter how highly placed or connected, should be adequately sanctioned. The security, education and well-being of Nigerian students (girls for that matter) must not be threatened or played with. There is no bigger and deadlier blow to girl child education in this part of the globe than failing to decisively deal with such matters as this with the seriousness it deserves.

“We call on the abductors to release the only girl in their possession as Islam abhors compulsion to accept the Faith. This act is contrary to the tenets of Islam just as terrorism and abduction.
“Let us call for the umpteenth time that our security operatives should be overhauled to befit the 21st century with all its complexities, sophistications and intricacies with reference to dynamics of security, peace and crime. As the giant of Africa, Nigeria should not only boast of being the most populous nation in the continent but also the country should be the undisputed pace setter in security among other pertinent and burning issues. The primary reason for which our government should exist is to protect our lives and property.
“To conclude, we  commend all Nigerians for their fervent prayers and solidarity, the Dapchi girls’ parents for their perseverance and the Nigerian government for the dogged display of responsiveness through overt and covert steps.”
