Provide 10% subsidy allowance for workers, TUC/NLC calls on Zamfara govt

The chairman of Trade Union Congress of Zamfara State Comrade, Saidu Mudi, has called on the state government to look into the possibility of providing, at least, 10 percent of basic salary of each worker to him as subsidy allowance.
This it said became imperative to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal by the Federal Government.
Mudi made the call in an interview with newsmen in his office in Gusau, on Wednesday.
.He said workers were finding it difficult to cope with the present situation and urged the government to take serious measures in addressing the hardships face by workers as they find it to come to work early due to high cost of transportation.
He described governor Dauda Lawal as workers friendly by paying all the outstanding salary arrears that was owed by the past administration, he further thank the governor for the gesture.
He further disclosed that the organise labour in the state would meet with the governor to discuss the problems of the workers on the best ways to address them.
Also speaking, the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress comrade Sani Halliru described the situations of Zamfara civil servants as unbearable as a result of the subsidy removal which makes it difficult for workers to assess their place of work as well as take care of their families.
He further call on government intervention to alleviate the suffering Of workers in the state.
