Pro-Tinubu demonstrators admit collecting N2,000 to counter #EndHunger protests – Media
Pro-Tinubu demonstrators said they were paid N2,000 out of N5,000 promised.
As demonstrators took to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja to demonstrate over the economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu, another group, pro-Tinubu, emerged metres away from the stadium carrying placards saying, “No protest.”
Majority of them who spoke the Hausa language confessed that they did not know the words written on the placards. A chunk of them carried the placards upside down as while chanting, “No protest!”
But two pro-Timubu demonstrators who spoke to Peoples Gazette said they were promised N5,000 and already received part-payment of N2,000 to hold the “No Protest” placards.
Another pro-government demonstrator chanted, “We are hungry” but when asked why he raised the “no protest” he said “forget that one,” fuelling claims that he and other persons were sponsored to counter peaceful protesters.
