Plateau Governor charges, says ‘excuses’ of gunmen won’t any longer be accepted by his administration

Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum Barr. Simon Lalong has warned that his administration will no longer take excuses of “unknown gunmen” who kill and maim Plateau State citizens at will.

Lalong insisted that perpetrators of the recent attacks and killings in the state must be fished out at all cost.

The governor stated this during an expanded stakeholders’ Peace and Security dialogue meeting he convened with the theme, “Domestication of Community Policing in Plateau State, exploring the indigenous options”.

Lalong disclosed that the perpetrators and killers of the recent attacks in the state will soon be unmarked and arrested to face the law.

“I have directed the security agencies that the killers must be fished out at all costs because government will no longer take excuses of ‘unknown gunmen’ who kill and maim at will in Plateau State,” he said.

Lalong also sort for the stakeholders’ counsel on indigenous option of security to safeguard citizens of the state.

The stakeholders, who consisted of traditional rulers, security agencies, religious leaders amongst others, all endorsed the reinvigoration of the Plateau State Security outfit “Operation Rainbow”.
