The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation Committee, His Excellency Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, says differences causing crisis in the party have been resolved.
Addressing newsmen shortly after a closed-door meeting with members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), which lasted for more than four hours in Abuja on Ruesday, Oyinlola, a former Military Governor of Lagos State, disclosed that members had been able to open up to themselves and resolve to move on as a united National Working Committee.
Oyinlola said that the issues resolved were the differences that had permeated the rank and file of the National Working Committee, adding that unity was what was needed for the progress of the party.
He said: “The outcome of today’s meeting is that, to the glory of God, we have been able to resolve the differences that have been causing our party some headaches within the National Working Committee.
“We thank God that we have been able to open up to ourselves and resolve to move on as a united National Working Committee, which is what we needed for the progress of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
“The issues resolved are the differences that have permeated the rank and file of the National Working Committee. I cannot be itemizing them for you.”
Asked when the National Executive Committee (NEC) is meeting, the former governor of Osun State said, “That wasn’t part of our discussion and I’m not in a position to talk about the NEC meeting. I am the Chairman National Reconciliation Committee, there were differences in the National Working Committee and that I have done and my job is finished.”
