He emphasized that as at present, the people of Oyo state are fed up with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration and are ready to vote the party out of power come 2019.

The PDP governorship aspirant disclosed that it was  the inability of the ruling APC to provide the change they promised the electorate that led to low approval ratings of the party by the people of Oyo state .

Engineer Makinde lauded PDP members and leaders in the state for  the rancour free ward congresses which elected ad-hoc state and national delegates, saying it was a pointer to the maturity and unity existing among most PDP members in the state.

The governorship aspirant then  urged those whose candidates  were  not elected during the exercise to cooperate with the members of the PDP so that a similar feat can be achieved during the forthcoming primaries  to elect state, and national assembly candidates as well as the gubernatorial candidate for the state.

“It is a good sign that no one is threatening to leave the party and this will encourage others to team up with the PDP to win the next elections.” he said.

Engineer Makinde however maintained that the PDP’s  umbrella ” is big enough to accommodate all members of the public and politicians who are desirous of becoming card carrying members of the PDP.”
