The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has, again, rejected the presidential election results this time from Katsina State.  It hinged his reason on alleged irregularities.

President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an indigene of the Katsina State, polled 1,232,133 votes to beat Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who scored 303,056 votes in the poll.

Alhaji Salisu Majigiri, the state PDP Chairman, disclosed the party’s position at a news conference on Tuesday in Katsina.

He alleged that there were some election irregularities committed in some local government areas of the state during the poll that were unacceptable to the PDP.

“Like in Kankara Local Government Area, some uncustomised result sheets are used to enter results, even though, they are from INEC, but are not the ones specifically supposed to be used for 2019 elections.

“In other places, there are over voting which we also observed, we are not satisfied with the result, that is why we rejected it and refused to sign.

“We raised objections on these issues during collation, but we are overruled.
“We will also raise these issues in Abuja during the final collation,” he said.

This happened even as a representation of the party at the National Collation Centre of the presidential election results Tuesday queried why the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, failed to make good his acclaimed promise to display details of card readers accreditation for all to see.

The PDP agent demanded for the card reader accreditation display, particularly, of accredited voters in Katsina, Kano, Yobe and the rest of the North, expressing surprise that despite activities of bandits, such number of voters were still recorded from the North West states.

He was however countered Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), who introduced himself at the collation centre as representative of President Muhammadu Buhari and who said it was uncalled for “my friend in PDP” to make such demand at the centre but at appropriate place.

Keyamo hinted that his party, the APC, has quite a lot of issues with South results but that “we keep our peace because we know what to do and where to lodge our complaints but definitely not here.”

Keyamo then insisted that the PDP’s demand, which had resemblance of an Orubebe near chaotic intervention at the 2015 collation centre, should not be entertained at the 2019 presidential election results collation centre, citing clauses from the electoral law.
