OWAYOKO: Osolo thanks Sultan, Deji, Alara, Attah, Akire, Gen Olanrewaju, Sarki Fulani of Lagos, others

The Osolo particularly appreciated prominent statesman and former Minister of Communications of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Rtd), for remembering particularly Isolo as a component of a state where he once served as Brigade Commander and Acting Military Governor.
The Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Edward Kolawole Adejoyegbe Adewole, Osalade II, has sent out his heartfelt gratitude to God and all personalities from across the country who stood by him, his Council of Chiefs and the good people of Isolo towards the success of the modernised kingdom’s Ita-Osolo (Owayoko) Festival 2025 held from Monday September 1 to Tuesday September 2.

In a well detailed appreciation message, the Monarch thanked very eminent traditional rulers including the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Dr. Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, the Iralepo of Isinkan Kingdom, Oba (Barrister) Olugbenga Ojo Olofin-Adimula, all traditional rulers of Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
This was contained in a statement sent to The DEFENDER Newspaper, signed by Michael Ayomide, Special Assistant to the Osolo on Media and Administration and dated Tuesday September 9, 2025, precisely eighth day after the conclusion of the event of Tuesday September 2, 2026.
He said, “I thank the Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, his co-chairman and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe Division of Lagos State, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, the Attah of Aiyede Kingdom, Ekiti State, His Royal Majesty Oba Alhaji AbdulMumini Adebayo Orisagbemi, Arojojoye Abolokefa IV, the Akire of Ikire-Ile Kingdom, Osun State, Oba AbdulAzeez Hrm Oba Azeez Olatunbosun Adebamiji, and the Olubosin of Ifetedo Kingdom, Osun State, His Royal Majesty Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera Latiiri I,” he appreciated.

“I also thank all the sons, daughters and friends of Isolo who played roles on the Prophet (Prince) Adebisi Orimoloye-led Ita-Osolo Festival Committee leading to the successes we recorded. It was a great job you did and I pray that God will bless you all.
“Generally, I thank you all for your attendance and support, physically, financially and spiritually. Our ancestors shall continue to be with you. Thank you immensely, it is my prayer that God will continue to give you reasons to celebrate and you shall not be found missing in next year edition,” prayed the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Edward Kolawole Adewole, Osalade II.
The DEFENDER reports that the maiden event of modernised Ita-Osolo (Owayoko) Festival 2025 featured among other programmes awards presentation to successful sons, daughters and friends of the land.
Deputy Comptroller of Immigration Ondo State Command, Prince Akinsehinwa Saka Adefaka, Chairman of Abiskoly Real Estate Developer Nigeria Limited, Prince Bashir Saka, a Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor, Alhaja Faozat Akorede-Gidado, were among the awardees to who the honour presentations were performed by Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, on behalf of the celebrant, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Edward Kolawole Adewole.
