In circumstances now shrouded in uncertainty as to the authenticity of claim of self defence, a 21-year-old student of the University of Lagos, by name Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, who allegedly killed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, said to be her lover, has been arrested by Lagos State Police Command.
Chidinma Ojukwu, reportedly, killed Ataga in the Lekki area of the state and, following her arrest, confessed to committing the crime, according to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu.
While owner of the rented apartment where the tragic incident took place had been arrested, CP Odumosu also said Ataga’s account had been blocked to prevent further withdrawals from it by those taking advantage of his untimely death to deplete it.
She was paraded at the police command headquarters in Ikeja on Thursday during which the 300 Level UNILAG student revealed that she stabbed the Super TV CEO, Mr Usifo Ataga, due to influence of drugs and alcohol.
She stated that she attacked and stabbed Mr Ataga to death during their stay in a short let apartment in Lagos.
According to Chidinma Adaora, “I stabbed him on his neck twice and later on his stomach after he had forcefully had sex with me initially.
“I was tired and exhausted and wanted to sleep but Mr Michael won’t have any of that. He became very violent and tried choking me to death.”
In the meantime, The DEFENDER, in attempt to unravel the truth of the Chidinma’s claims regarding drug/alcohol influence and forceful sexual intercourse by her late lover, has sent a text to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, which was yet to be returned as at time of filing this report.
Our curiously is about finding out if the two claims do not contradict each other, as it is believed that only one of the two could rightly be acceptable but that to claim she was under the influence of drug and alcohol and at the same time killing him having been pushed to exhaustion due to forceful sexual intercourse, by the late lover, gives rise to questions begging for answers.
These are difficult questions as the accused, the only person with her at the scene of crime, is already a dead man and only the wisdom and report of investigations by the foremost security agency can give a clear position on the matter, The DEFENDER reports.
