Over 60 INEC card readers intercepted from PDP thugs in Rivers, as another invades Asaba CBN for INEC result sheets

A yet to be confirmed report has it that the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) intercepted over 60 card readers from thugs working for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

This is even as All Progressives Congress (APC) continued to be excluded by combined directives of court and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from participating in the national and state elections in the state.

A yet to be countered report trending on the social media has it also that another armed gang went to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Asaba branch, in Delta State with intent to steal result sheets but has been arrested.

The suspect, whose name was not disclosed, is said to be younger brother to a PDP’s serving member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Uviejirobor from Udu Local Government Area.

He was said to have confessed that his brother gave him the gun and vehicle.

The report has it also that  “The police in the state is on stop and search every Sienna, branded Volunteer Van and SUV as they are what they use to disguise to perfect their evil act”.

Only Friday evening it was revealed at a meeting of Concerned Citizens Group in Ogun presided over by Mr. Wale Ogunyemi, that Governor Nyesom Wike was behind the plight of APC’s crisis leading to its being excluded in the polls because, according to the group, “he has no liver to withstand opposition in a free, fair and credible election”.

Speaking at the meeting, a member of the group, Mr. Adedoyin Fusika reminded his colleagues “of 2015 when a whole university vice chancellor had to be given a lamp in day light to read his results from a sheet and he still could not see it.  Wike was in possession of sensitive materials such as result sheets and the rest of them and it was what handed him victory that even the professor could not defend.”

Although Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Frank Mba, could not immediately be reached on this development, Nigerians talking about it said it was part of the reasons the postponement of general elections from Saturday 16 February 2019 to 23 February was justified.
