Osun ex-SSG Gets ADP’s Gubernatorial Ticket
Former Secretary to Osun State Government (SSG), Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP).
At the Congress held at party’s secretariat at Biket area, Osogbo, large chunk of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) thronged the ADP secretariat to witness the declaration of Adeoti as the party’s candidate.
The ADP electoral committee chairman, Mr Dozie Ike, urged all members of the party to support Adeoti to win the election.
Also speaking, Mrs Lynn Olisa, the Secretary of the electoral committee, said 13, 400 party members were accredited for the primary, while 13,367 voted.
Olisa said Adeoti , the only aspirant for the party, scored 13,324 votes, adding that 43 votes were voided.
Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, had earlier wrote a letter to APC ward chairman in Iwo to announced his resignation from the party having withdrawn from the APC’s direct method of primary election on allegation that the exercise has skewed to favour the cousin of national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Gboyega Oyetola.
In his acceptance speech Adeoti urged the party members to support him in winning the Sept. 22 governorship election in the state.
Adeoti said he was committed to executing the ADP ideals as contained in its manifestoes to the letter.
” I therefore want to seek your support in ensuring success for our party, by launching all out to mobilise support for our party’s victory, come Sept. 22.
” Today, we make history in our collective resolve to liberate our dear state from the grip of feudal lords who are so poor in humanity that all they have is money without conscience and humanity.
” As a grassroots politicians, who had passed through virtually all stages of political leadership as councillor, Local Government Supervisor, and party administrator and later Secretary to State Government,;
” I present a sober, deep and solid experience critically needed to lead a people-centered and masses-oriented administration as the governor of Osun State”.
