Osinbajo, Sheriff, Oyegun meet in Aso Rock
Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff was on Thursday, sighted at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he met with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), who later joined the meeting, behind closed doors.
The mission of the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Aso Rock was not also clear as he avoided any conversation with State House correspondents who sought to know why he came.
The meeting lasted for about two hours inside the VP’s office.
He however refused to field questions from reporters after the meeting.
Since the Supreme Court sacked Sheriff some months ago, he has not been seen in any PDP gathering, raising speculations that he might be gunning for membership in the APC.
While the crisis in the PDP lasted, he was alleged to be working as a mole for the APC, which no PDP member can any longer push further as even Abubakar Atiku now gunning for a place in the former ruling party could have also been alleged to be working as a mole for the PDP in APC.
Ali Modu Sheriff sack by the apex court however could be said to have brought a huge relief to the PDP, prompting a restructuring of the now Ahmed Markafi-led party.
