Osinbajo diverts flight from Lagos route to Kaduna over train attack
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo arrived Kaduna State Tuesday, to offer support and visit victims of the attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train killing some passengers, inflicting injuring on some while kidnapping some, Monday night.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Officer of the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, said Osinbajo, who was already on his way to Lagos for the 13th colloquium in commemoration of the 70th birthday of All Progressives Congress stalwart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made a detour to Kaduna Tuesday afternoon, after receiving report of the very highly disturbing terrorists attack.
Akande, who passed the information via his Twitter handle, said: “On his way to Lagos for the 13th Tinubu Colloquium marking former Lagos State Gov’s 70th birthday, VP had to detour to Kaduna this afternoon on receiving news of the extent of human & material losses occasioned by yesterday’s dastardly attack on the Abuja-Kaduna railway route.”
He is expected to visit victims of the attacks at who are already being treated at various health facilities include that of the Nigerian Army.
