{OPINION} Trump and war criminal Netanyahu are the biggest fools!

Last June, it was the Israelis who were begging Trump to stop the war. Today, we see the world’s greatest military power begging a regional power Iran for cessation of hostilities. Everything that is coming out of Trump’s mouth about the Iranians wanting a ceasefire are nothing but lies.

Those who know me know that I was a Trump supporter. I knew that Kamala Harris would be a disaster for the world.

But I have been very disappointed in the 2 wars which Trump has waged against Iran. Iran posed no threat to the United States. Yet, for someone who is self-interested to a fault, Trump has been led by his nose by Netanyahu to do Israel’s dirty bidding, and to commit the American military to fight Netanyahu’s dirty war against Iran. It has been Netanyahu’s lifelong ambition to get the Americans to enter the war against Iran. He succeeded with Trump.

Now Trump is in a quagmire, which he cannot haul himself out of. His boasts of how well the war is going and how many thousands of targets the Americans have hit are meaningless. The Americans can bomb another 100,000 Iranian targets for all I care and it would not change the trajectory of the war.

This coming week, the Israelis will run out of interceptor missiles and Tel Aviv and Haifa would be sitting ducks for the Iranian missiles. Not that the air defenses are any good. One of the revelations of this war is how useless the air defense systems have been. By some accounts, the Iranians have 45,000 missiles! That is why they have been talking about a war that lasts for years not weeks. And that is why they have repeatedly rebuffed Trump’s pleas for a ceasefire. We are seeing history repeat itself. Last June, it was the Israelis who were begging Trump to stop the war. Today, we see the world’s greatest military power begging a regional power Iran for cessation of hostilities. Everything that is coming out of Trump’s mouth about the Iranians wanting a ceasefire are nothing but lies.

I just watched a video of ordinary Iranians being interviewed about the war. I was struck how every person interviewed said they were not interested in a ceasefire! All of them wanted to teach America and Israel a lesson. So, it is not only the Iranian regime which does not want a ceasefire. Their own citizens are telling them there cannot be a ceasefire until the desired outcome is reached. And this is from a citizenry that has borne the brunt of the terrible American and Israeli air-strikes.Trump has awakened the Iranian lion.

Trump’s talk of sending 2,200 Marines or the 82nd airborne division into Iran is irrational. They will be slaughtered by the IRGC and the Iranian army. His talk of the American navy escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has also turned out to be empty talk. His Admirals refuse to put their naval vessels in harm’s way. They know that these naval vessels would be practice targets for the Iranian missiles and drones in the narrow waterways of the Strait. Trump is now begging the Chinese, Japanese, British and French to send their naval vessels to escort the oil tankers. I am pretty sure that none of them with the exception of possibly the French would do so.

If the French do it, it will only be because their lame-duck President, Macron, who has become a laughing stock at home, is trying to have a last hurrah on the world stage before he leaves office next year as the least popular President in French history. And his hurrah would end when the first French naval vessel is sunk by the Iranians.

This is going to be a long war and oil will easily surpass $200 in the not too distant future. And the price of food will spike as well because 30% of the world’s urea, which is used as fertiliser, passes through the Strait. With the Strait closed, and the farmers not having the necessary fertiliser to grow crops, the global food inflation and shortage would be terrible.

In the next few months when you are faced with horrific oil price hikes and spiralling food costs and shortages, you will know who the 2 villains are – Trump and Netanyahu!
