Obasa’s Silent march towards making history
By Bolatito Adebola
Perhaps the best way to describe the political strides of the incumbent Speaker of the vibrant Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Obasa Mudashiru, is ‘history in the making’. This is on account of his largely unassailable road to an unprecedented fifth term as a honourable member and foremost principal officer of the LSHA, come 2019.
We hear from the grapevine that the Agege 1 Constituency representative in the House of Assembly, is already bracing up for another term in the House, and from feelers coming in from his constituency, there appears to be no visible aspirant that might confront his moving train. The deeply grass roots politician, enjoys so much favour and preference for the plum post across all divides in his party, APC, and it is only providence that can deny him another slot in the LSHA, if all the permutations and calculations are taken into consideration.
Truth be told, Obasa has managed the affairs of the House so well that any opposition to his fifth term will be deemed as faux pas. The politically-versed lawmaker has mastered the ropes so well that he is very consequential in any decision making process at both his constituency and the House, nay the executive arm of the government in Lagos State. His unprecedented fifth term in the House and an ultimate ascendancy to the speakership of the House for a second term are almost a fait accompli, all pointing to one direction of making a history and record-breaking spree, that may be difficult for any politician in his ilk to equal or surpass.
