It is not one of the good times for the Nigeria’s Presidency presently as Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari, and three of his staff are tested positive of dangerous Coronavirus.

Abba Kyari first tested positive for the virus on Monday, which necessitated the tests on his staff.

According to a presidential source quoted by a media report, the health status of Kyari and his three staff were confirmed on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a Presidential source, who according to the report sought anonymity, confirmed that all persons suspected to have been exposed to the Chief of Staff to the President have been advised to self-isolate.

Malam Abba Kyari, President Buhari’s Chief of staff, diagnosed with coronavirus had contacts with many people since his return from Germany on March 14 – one of them was Malam Garba Shehu, Official Spokesperson to the President.

On March 17, Malam Shehu was part of the team led by Kyari to deliver President Buhari’s message to Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello at the prayers marking the eighth days since the death of his mother.

Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Senator George Akume, and other top officials were also at the event.

However, on Tuesday, Shehu took to his Twitter handle to thank God for the current status of his health.

Although he didn’t clarify the status.

He said, “Allah is the giver of health. I am pleased with my current health endowment. Alhamdu Lillah!,” He wrote on Twitter.

In the meantime, Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has reportedly gone into isolation after the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday.

Osinbajo has had several contacts with Kyari since he returned from Germany on 14 March where he contracted the virus.

The Chief of Staff never isolated himself and one of his contact was the Vice President, who always sit by him during executive council meetings.

A top source in the Vice President’s office told a reporter that Osinbajo had truly gone into self-isolation in a bid to halt the spread of the deadly disease.

A presidential source also said on Tuesday that the vice president, as a precautionary measure, went into self-isolation Monday night immediately he was informed of Kyari’s test result.

It was also gathered that several top echelons in Aso Rock who may have had contact with Kyari had gone into self-isolation.

President Muhammadu Buhari narrowly escaped being infected with the disease as he tested negative for coronavirus.

It will be recalled that the Minister of Health, Prof. Osagie … Monday threatened to publish the names of Nigerians who returned to the country and refused to self-isolate.

Some Muslim personalities, who spoke to The DEFENDER Tuesday on the latest development with the nation’s presidency, prayed fervently that “Allah will save the seat of power against being haunted down by this dreaded disease that He knows how it came and He alone we seek to take it away and bury it permanently”.
