Nigerians throng social media, blast Governor Wike for mentioning Tinubu, Obasanjo, among PDP’s Hope 2019
Some concerned Nigerians, still beefing as a result of what they described as unforgettable wicked looting of Nigeria into recession by the past administration of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), rushed to the Facebook Page of The DEFENDER and other relevant social media timelines between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to tell the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, that he goofed to have created an impression that revered progressives and All Progressives Congress (APC) Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo were nursing the interest to be on their train ahead of 2019 struggle for power against President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
The DEFENDER quoted Governor Wike, in its report on Tuesday published on its news website: www.thedefenderngr.com, to have said in his interview with The Interview magazine that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku were among personalities of PDP and current APC that were on the line of talk to join the PDP train ahead of 2019.
Commenting on the publication link on The DEFENDER’s Facebook Page, addressed: www.facebook.com/thedefenderngr, some of them laughed out at the governor’s comment.
Hon Enghanya Kungaba JP, in his own comment, said, “PDP don’t make ppl laugh at you. Here Wike; saying Obasanjo, Atiku n Tinubu are their hope in 2019.How can somebody who openly torn his PDP membership card b said to b it hope again or hw can d APC leader b d hope of it opposition or is it d person that shamelessly abandoned you that can b your hope in 2019?Pls if you surrender good let our APC have a work over in 2019.It is crystal clear that you have already envisaged that, with d e-voting you wl measure below expectation. Be dead assured, you wl nt have d sympaty of any of d three persons u want 2 rely on in 2019,” he said.
came on that page with a different view that is not clearly stated as to whether he was replying Wike, PDP or just venting his frustrations. He said, “They keep re-circle themselves into office for their own self gains. Leave the stage for younger generation that is well equipped physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. With sound mind a United not a diviner. My people shine eye Yoruba think wise. What have we benefit from APC. Nigerians is time to vote according to conscience do not mortgage the future of your children born and unborn. The North will go for interest of the northern.”
But Abdullahi Aliyu, a very active social media person said, “A drowned man can hold unto anything for safety even if it is a sword.”
Moyosore Oyetunji, reacting outside the The DEFENDER’s Page, trusted that Tinubu would never be part of such talk or realignment with PDP.
Oyetunji said, “Tinubu ke, I can bet it by anything that can never happen. Obasanjo will never be on the same row with fayose. I can’t say that of others.”
Kamilu Yunusa Kamal said, “PDP are desperate to return to power for them to chop our treasury again. I assure you that PDP can even nominate Satan himself to be their flag bearer….. But thank God Nigerians are now wiser than yesterday.”
Speaking England, Kehinde Adeniran said, “Nothing is impossible but there are somethings that is impossible and that will never. I can’t vouch for Atiku Abubakar returning to PDP, you can never doubt a Political Prositute and Power Hunger. Atiku has been so desperate about Power and compare to the duo of Asiwaju and Baba. I have never seen anything in PDP that can attract Asiwaju Tinubu to join PDP likewise Baba will never allow his good name to be soiled because PDP is a Party but Group of Heartless People who ganged up to destroy our Great Nation!”
Prince Isiaq Taiwo Babalola, a Lagos banker, however described the Governor Nyesom Wike’s statement, as myopic.
He said, “It is a myopic view. Atiku can find his way back to PDP easily. But Tinubu would rather form another political party than joining PDP. Obasanjo will also prefer a retirement than returning to PDP.”
