The Battles Against Corruption in Nigeria (BACN) has cautioned Nigerians against taking the incoming general elections as a joke.

It said citizens must not say because they are too confident about President Muhammadu Buhari’s winning the elections without using their voting power to elect him for a second term in office.

Giving this warning in a message to The DEFENDER on Monday, President of the 11,000-member Canada-based anti-corruption organization currently on a visit to Nigeria, Mr. Waheed Seriki, said it became imperative due to the fact that President Buhari “is contesting with people suffering from power hungry disorder (PHD)”.

He said, “Those who are suffering from this kind of disease are very dangerous in their search for power and there is nothing they can’t do to have power and influence.

“Power hungry disorder is a kind of disease that researchers fail to notice in some African leaders. This is a disease that can manifest in two ways. It may either be heredity or disease of the mind.

“The disease is like a three-set of meal in a day, for those with power hungry disorder syndrome. It is an incurable disease because those with PHD reacts like someone thirsty for water.

“Those suffering from this disease only think of way to acquire more and more power and they can never be satisfied in their search for same. They are ready to destroy the world if possible in their efforts to grab power and influence.

“People suffering from power hungry disorder always jump from one party to another, or associating with one group or the other at will in their search for power.

“The only ideology such people have is to grab power at all cost. They have nothing to offer the country except to maintain and protect their influence and power in the society at the expense of the whole nation.

“PHD people are very good and effective in manipulating, enslaving and colonizing the masses in the search for power and influence.

“It will be very disastrous and dangerous for Nigeria as a nation if they fail to vote enmass for Buhari in the next election. The electorates must not fall victims of the likes of Bukola Saraki, Atiku Abubakar, former Governor of Kaduna State Alhaji Muhammed Makarfi, former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, Rabiu Kwankwaso etc in 2019 election because, Nigeria will return to 16 years of People Democratic Party’s disastrous rule that nearly turned the country into pieces before President Muhammadu Buhari came on board three years ago to rescue it from total collapse.

“Nigerians must ensure they register for their PVCs and same wisely in 2019 election by voting for Buhari to continue the assignment of salvaging the social, economic and infrastructural development of the country.

“The incoming election will not be as easy as Nigerians think because, people with the power hungry disorder (PHD) like former Vice President Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Senator Bukola Saraki and their other colleagues can go to any length to grab power. They are ready to confront the nation in their bid for power and relevance in the society. Their philosophy of ‘what I don’t get, I will destroy’ is very difficult, if not impossible to forgo.

“The only way to checkmate Bukola Saraki and his cabals suffering from this PHD syndrome is for the masses to use their voters’ cards effectively at the elections and not to give room for any rigging by corrupt politicians with stain characters, so as to prevent ‘things from falling apart’ again in our nation.

“Nigerians must be warned to know that the powers behind the looters and their allied have ill-gotten money to spend to rig the elections, and so, the electorates that are the only supports that President Buhari has must use their voters’ cards and vote enmasse for him, if they want their candidate to continue in office.

“It is not too late for the citizens to halt Senator Bukola Saraki, Kwankwaso, Atiku, Tambawul etc selfish ambitions for power and influence, by taking the advantage of the extension of PVCs registration and ensure they get their voters’ cards and use same wisely in the incoming 2019 elections.

“The citizens should make the people suffering from Power Hungry Disorder realise that no matter the amount of ill-gotten money they have, power still belongs to the people and their determinations to give that power to President Muhammadu Buhari to continue in office beyond 2019 is not negotiable and can never be bought with the ill-gotten money.”
