*Buhari votes in Daura, Tinubu votes in Alausa amidst rowdy situation

Situation report from our Zamfara State Correspondent has it that situation in the state is generally peaceful as people troop out en-masse to elect their new President this morning.

According to him, “Zamfara State is generally peaceful and voters are coming out to exercise their franchise. I can tell you women in their large number are coming out and there is no fear either of banditry or any issue of political thugs as security is adequately mobilised here,” said.

In the meantime, The DEFENDER reports that Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, arrived his polling unity in Yola North where he accredited, handed his ballot papers, proceeded to the cubicle where he cast his vote at about 8.30am.

From Katsina, President Muhammadu Buhari at about 10:00am accredited, handed his ballot papers, proceeded to the cubicle and voted everything under 10 minutes and left.

But before he left, he was accosted pressmen who asked him questions and to whom he responded.

Speaking, the President said he had said it  in Nasarawa, Kebbi and Sokoto that Nigerians must be respected to exercise their franchise reason he made adequate provision for election security.

Asked about his candidate, he said he had always made his preferred candidate known and that he only hoped that Nigerians would for for him.

As for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), he arrived at his Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos polling unit where he also went through the process and voted at about 10:30am and left.
