NIGERIA: Sultan of Sokoto receives Chief of Army Staff in audience

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, was received on a courtesy visit to His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, on Monday 18th October 2021.

The Army Chief, who in his opening remarks, appreciated the Sultan for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage, promised to discharge his duties to the best of his ability and sought for the Sultan’s royal blessings and advice to enable him succeed in his assigned responsibility.

General Yahaya, who incidentally hails from Sokoto, prayed for success and peaceful coexistence of the people of Sokoto in particular and Nigerians in general.

Responding, the Sultan welcomed home the COAS and members of his entourage and wished them success in their endeavours.

He explained that the task ahead of the Chief of Army Staff, which is basically to rid the nation of its insecurity situation, is a huge one, hence the need for him to tighten his belt.

He prayed for him to succeed optimally in the discharge of his reponsibilities.

The Sultan told the Army Chief that his doors would remain open to him for advice of any kind that he might need towards achieving success while carrying out his duties.
