Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has reacted after being accused by the Federal Government of defaming Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a recent live television broadcast, according to a report said to have been shared on Vanguard’s verified X handle on Saturday.

The allegation is part of a petition in which the Federal Government listed multiple individuals, including former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello and Senate President Akpabio as witnesses in the defamation suit.
The case emerged shortly after Senator Natasha was suspended from the Senate for six months due to alleged breaches of legislative conduct.
She had earlier claimed that Akpabio made inappropriate sexual advances toward her.
Her legal team has responded to the defamation charges, confirming that they have received the petition and are preparing to mount a robust defense in court.
According to the report, her lawyers stated that, “The legal team will diligently prepare all relevant factual and legal defenses available to our client and submit them during the trial.”
