“If America, with all its might, could fight ‘terrorism’ in Afghanistan for 20 years only for its soldiers to be disgraced out of the country leaving their heavy weapons including Tucano A-29 light attack planes behind, Nigerians should salute President Muhammadu Buhari, who recovered occupied territory from Boko Haram insurgents under 12 months of assuming power.”

The Taliban, following its takeover of government in Kabul, has renamed Afghanistan the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’.

Kabul, a metropolis of six million people has turned into a male-dominated city without police or traffic controls, Media report said.

Recall that scores of Afghans ran alongside a US military plane as it taxied on the runway and several clung to the side as the jet took off.

Senior US military officials confirmed to Aljazeera that the chaos left seven dead, as well as several who fell from the flight.

The US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 ousted the Taliban from power for allowing Osama bin Laden settle in the Middle East country, but they never left.

After they blitzed across the country in recent days, the America-backed government that has run the country for 20 years collapsed.

A singular message from Afghanistan currently is that, United States of America that is touted the world police nation has been defeated having been unable to stamp Taliban, who were in government, out successfully.

To Nigerians, message being sent around is for those that claim President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to end Boko Haram in six years to know that the best solution to ending terrorism is avoidance of it in the first instance as, we gathered, it is not an easy but doable task.

“Also, President has in the last six years continued to keep the recalcitrants restricted to the Lake Chad Basin area and now has started the military clearance operations with a singular aim to ending the evils in no distant time,” a respondent said.
