The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, said it had extended the deadline for the registration of pilgrims for this year’s hajj from March 31 to April 30.
The board’s Public Relations Officer, Mallam Yunusa Abdullahi, made this disclosure in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.
He directed all registered intending pilgrims in the state to make up their deposit to N1.5 million before April 25 pending the announcement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) the total hajj package.
The statement stated that the directive was based on the extension of deadline for the registration of pilgrims by NAHCON.
Abdullahi said the registration of intending pilgrims would continue till April 25 to enable the board meet deadline for closure of registration and remittance of all hajj deposits to NAHCON by April 30.
He disclosed that the board had since secured a befitting accommodation for its intending pilgrims in Mecca.
The board’s spokesperson said no fewer than 2,200 intending pilgrims had registered with the board out of the 6,636 seats allocated to the state by NAHCON.
