Muslim Media Watch mourns death of KWASU VC, Mustapha

By KEMI KASUMU

The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has described the death of the Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University Malete, Professor Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi (SAN), as a colossal loss.

This, it said, is bearing in mind his intellectual, professional and spiritual commitment, adding that the nation would for long remember late Professor Muhammad Akanbi for his academic brilliance, humility, service to humanity and dedication to duty.

In a tribute, the National Coordinator of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, Mallam Ibrahim Abdullahi, said on behalf of the Group that, though the death of the Professor was saddening and heart breaking, “we should take solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation by the youth and elders.”

He said till his death Akanbi remained religious, humane, humble and highly respectful in spite of his towering status.

“Late Prof. Muhammad Akanbi remained a ‘carbon copy’ of his father Late Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi who was the Pioneer Chairman of ICPC till death as he personified great virtues and values of a truly religious person who served his Creator – Almighty Allah and mankind with total commitment and dedication,” Abdullahi said.

“He therefore prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his errors  and reward his good deeds  with Paradise (Al-Jannatul-Firdaous) Amin.”
