A Support Group for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Jimmy Omo-Agege(JOA), has been successfully inaugurated Thursday at the Ughelli, Delta State.
The Chairman of the group, Hon Monday Otobrise, said at the inauguration ceremony that the group was constituted by Mr Jimmy Omo-Agege to support the governorship ambition of Obarisi, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
Monday Otobrise, said that the new executive were selected based on their track record of performance, capacity and commitment in supporting the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ughelli North.
He said that as a group, the officials of the group would work to ensure Obarisi, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege wins the 2023 Governorship election.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Delta Central Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council, Chief Dr. Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi tasked members of the general public not to allow Okowa’s stooge, Hon Sheriff Oborewhori to govern the State as it will spell doom for everyone.
“Okowa wants to use Sheriff as the easiest back door to Government House. So far Sheriff has approved numerous loans for the State Government with nothing to show for it in the State. He has approved 3 Universities with two in Delta North, one in Delta South and none in Delta Central where he hails from. He has also been used by Okowa to create additional DESIEC wards in Delta North to suppress the voting strength of the Urhobos of Delta Central who are the majority. We will not allow such a person to govern us” he said.
The patron of the group, Mr Jimmy Omo-Agege represented by Comr Progress Omo-Agege, said he was overwhelmed by the show of love and level of support for the Senator Ovie Omo-Agege governorship mandate for which this group was formed.
“With the level of support and the calibre of people I have seen in the group as new executives, I am greatly convinced that the emergence of Obarisi, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as the Governor of Delta State come 2023 is possible. I am fully committed and I will continue to support this group to ensure the actualistions of the vision and mission for which this group was formed”
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Ughelli North chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon Oborakporo Onoabedje said that with what he has seen that it will be politically naive and suicidal for the PDP to still continue to nurse a morsel of hope ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He urged the group and all party faithfuls to support and vote Obarisi, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and all other APC candidates contesting for various positions across the State.
The coordinator of the group, Comr Gueke Ugbarugba, while presenting decampees from the PDP to Chief Dr. Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi, said that the group will continue to work together as a team in mobilising the electorates at the grassroots levels to support the mandate of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
“Our campaign strategy will not stop at the local government level, we will go down to the wards and units levels where we have massive people. It will be a door to door exercise and we assure you all that we will achieve our major goals. It is not going to be an easy task, but it is a task that we will achieve with commitment and passion, and by the special grace of God and with the support of our patron Mr Jimmy Omo-Agege.” he said.
