Meeting in Dubai: Nigerians in Diaspora give verdict on dangers of electing Abubakar Atiku as President
*Doing so will re-open Nigeria’s door for corruption, reckless spending – CACINI
“Nigerians must use their voters cards in 2019 election to vote massively for President Buhari, otherwise the first priority of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, if he wins the election, will be to recover all the money he has been spending recklessly since he began his presidential bid for the election. Atiku’s idea of holding a strategy session with over 400 members of his team in Dubai is a warning, signal to how wasteful and indiscipline he will be in managing Nigerian affairs if he becomes president of the country.”
Alhaji Abubakar Atiku holding a strategy meeting for his election bid shows that “no matter how a dog is washed and combed, a dog will still be a dog” because, reckless spending and wasting of money by Atiku since he was elected to stand for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential flag bearer in 2019 election is an indication that he cannot be reformed from his excessive and wasteful spending and misuse of resources.
These were the words of Crusade Against Corruption and Indiscipline in Nigeria (CACINI), contained in its message sent from Ontario, Canada to The DEFENDER on Saturday.
According to the message signed by CACINI’S President, Mr. Waheed Seriki, electing the former Vice President, whose time supervised the sales of Nigeria’s assets leading to collapse of many industries and losses of jobs and abject poverty among Nigerians, will be a re-opening of Nigeria’s door for massive corruption and reckless spending.
“Former Vice-President Abubakar Atiku election as the president of Nigeria will be dangerous and disastrous for ongoing Nigeria’s social, political and economic development. His election will spell doom for Nigeria as a nation and open door for massive corruption and embezzlement of country resources.
“Nigerians must think back to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan’s era, when the Nigeria economy was in total disarray and collapsed during 16 years of PDP rule until President Buhari came to power and began facing the challenges of rebuilding and revamping the economy.
“Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, if elected as the president of Nigeria and care is not taken, will make the Nigerian situation worse than last 16 years of PDP rule because the looters and powers behind them will be more desperate and determined than during Jonathan regime to recover all the ill-gotten money they lost because of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s economic recovery and development policy and checkmates of the looters from their continuous looting of Nigeria’s resources.
“Nigerians must use their voters cards in 2019 election to vote massively for President Buhari, otherwise the first priority of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, if he wins the election, will be to recover all the money he has been spending recklessly since he began his presidential bid for the election.
“Atiku’s idea of holding a strategy session with over 400 members of his team in Dubai is a warning, signal to how wasteful and indiscipline he will be in managing Nigerian affairs if he becomes president of the country.
“He, as president of Nigeria, will plunge the country back to economic destruction and will be a setback for President Muhammadu Buhari’s ongoing fight against corruption and indiscipline in Nigeria’s economic system.
“Atiku and his cabals’ excessive spending and strategy meeting in Dubai should prove to Nigerians that the PDP have no regret for mismanaging the country’s economy during their 16 years in power and that they are not even ready to learn from their past mistakes of mortgaging and mismanaging the lives of more than 180 million Nigerian people.
“Nigerians must use their voter’s cards to make people like Abubakar Atiku, Bukola Saraki, Olusegun Obasanjo permanently irrelevant in Nigeria’s political system and to pass the message to them that Nigeria as a nation is tired of political criminals, irresponsible and indiscipline politicians and elder statesmanship.
