Liad Tella is Chairman for Fed College of Edu Iwo, as Buhari okays governing councils of Polytechnics, Colleges of Education

President Muhammadu Buhari, in line with enabling laws, has reconstituted the Governing Councils of the 25 Federal Polytechnics and 21 Colleges of Education, in the country.

The presidential action shows that former Editor of the defunct National Concord and Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The MONITOR Newspapers, Alhaji Liad Tella, is pioneer Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal College of Education Iwo, Osun State, South West Nigeria.

In a statement, Sonny Echono, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, said that for the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Akwa Ibom State, the President appointed a five-member Governing Council, chaired by Chief Yemi Sanusi.

The statement said Yahaya Garba (Niger), Bashir Kazaure (Jigawa), Tunde Oladunoye (Ogun) and Chris Azebamwan, Edo State Publicity Secretary of the ruling APC were also appointed as members of the Governing council.

For the governing council of the Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Jigawa State, the President also named Ali Hussaini as chairman.

It said that other members of the Governing council are Dr Timothy Ornguga (Benue), Sani Mafara (member) and Alhaji Isa Jibrin (Niger) and Chief Francis Omoh, Edo State Welfare Secretary of the APC.

Echono said that all the councils will be inaugurated by the Education Minister Mallam Adamu Adamu on April 20 at the National Universities Commission Auditorium, Abuja.
