Late New Telegraph editor, Waheed Bakare, buried, President Buhari sends condolences

Alhaji Waheed Bakare, Saturday Editor of The New Telegraph Newspaper, who died in the late hours of Sunday, has been committed to mother earth according to Islamic rites.
The final journey of no return for the late journalist started with a janazah prayers at his Ota, Ogun State home morning of Monday, led by a Muslim cleric and attended by sizeable number of faithful across the profession led by Chairman, Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Lagos State Brabch, Alhaji Kabir Garba.
Other colleagues from across the media including Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspaper, Mr. Ayo Aminu, former Lagos State Chair Person, Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Alhaja Sekinah Lawal, Alhaji Tajudeen Adebanjo among others partook in the last respect for the fallen Journalism hero.
The DEFENDER reports that Bakare died Sunday evening of an undisclosed ailment.
The late Bakare was a regular feature on Television Continental (TVC) Journalists’ Hangout.
In the meantime, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has commiserated with the media industry, particularly Nigeria Union of Journalists and Nigeria Guild of Editors, over the passing of the Saturday Editor of New Telegraph, Waheed Bakare.
The President sends condolences to family of the deceased and management of his media organization, describing the editor’s death as a collective loss to the media and the nation that he served passionately with his talent.
The President prays that God will receive the soul of the departed, and comfort all that mourn him.
