LAGOS: 53 injured bus/train crash victims leave hospitals – Governor

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced that 53 victims of Thursday 9, 2023 bus/train crash at PWD, Ikeja area of Lagos, have been discharged from hospitals after being treated.

The DEFENDER reports that a state government staff BRT bus, conveying some civil servants to work on the ill-fated day, was crushed by a moving train on rail track around 7.30am killing two occupants on the spot while four others died later at the hospital.

They were 85 passengers in all on board the staff bus.

“I am pleased to report that 53 patients that were hospitalised after the bus/train accident in Lagos have now been discharged after receiving free and quality healthcare from different state medical facilities across Lagos,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said via his Twitter handle on Monday.

The governor had said, “Heeding our call for blood donation, Lagosians demonstrated true humanity with over 256 units of blood donated leading to swift action that saved lives.

“While the discharged return to their families, let us continue to keep the hospitalised patients in our prayers.”
