This was said to be in recognition of his decades-long dedication to grassroots politics, education, and public service.

The award was presented during the 2025 National Leadership Awards Ceremony held in Kaduna, where political figures, religious leaders, and public servants from across the country were celebrated for outstanding contributions to national development.

Presenting the award, the Managing Editor of The Authentic News Daily, Mr. Jacob Dickson, described Senator Kwankwaso as a rare and principled politician whose ideology remains rooted in the upliftment of the common man.

“In a time when many politicians switch allegiances and abandon their principles for personal gain, Senator Kwankwaso has remained consistent, focused, and committed to his people. His impact on education, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance speaks volumes,” Dickson said.

Senator Kwankwaso, who was represented at the event by the National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, was applauded for leading a movement that has transformed political participation, particularly among young Nigerians.

According to the organizers, Kwankwaso’s legacy includes the sponsorship of thousands of students to universities at home and abroad, establishment of key educational institutions like the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, and a leadership style that prioritizes the welfare of the underprivileged.

Receiving the award on his behalf, Dr. Ahmed described Kwankwaso as a man of vision whose loyalty to his political ideology and the masses has redefined opposition politics in Nigeria.

“This award is a testament to his enduring legacy as a man of the people. Senator Kwankwaso is not just a politician; he is a builder of people, a mentor of youths, and a symbol of political integrity,” Dr. Ahmed said.

Other prominent figures also honoured at the ceremony included former Chief of Army Staff Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), Senator Lawan Usman of Kaduna Central, Sheikh Halliru Maraya, and Rev. Father Joseph Hayat.

The event closed with a standing ovation for Senator Kwankwaso, with organizers and attendees describing him as “a compass of conscience in Nigerian politics.”
