The Governor of Borno State, North East Nigeria, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has been commended by yet another set of people of the state over what they described as his giant strides of his administration.
Making the commendation trough a press briefing in Lagos, on Monday 19 October, 2021, was Kwajaffa Development Association, through its Spokesman, Alhaji Hamma Ali Kwajaffa.
He said, “Governor Zulum should be commended for being the first civilian Governor to visit Kwajaffa. The people of the town are indeed very happy with him and pray for his successful tenure of office in rebuilding Borno to giant strides. The rebuilding of Kwajaffa town houses, health centre and schools, burnt down during various Boko Haram attacks in the past, cannot also be over emphasised,” the association said.
He continued that, “The inhabitants and, particularly, the Kwajaffa Development Association, who thanked the governor for this laudable intervention, are also appealing to him to fulfil his promise of rebuilding the road leading to the town, since the terrorist attacks were obviously possible because of bad road that could not make good access for the rescue team of the armed forces.”
Speaking further on behalf of the Association, Alhaji Hamma Ali that the governor’s giant strides at rebuilding towns and villages destroyed by Boko Haram terrorists, as well as resettling the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) back to their homes, are highly commendable.
Alhaji Hamma, however, appealed to Governor Zulum to “please” also fulfill the promise he made to remove the obstacle that made those unfortunate attacks easy for the terrorists by rebuilding the road leading in and out of the Kwajaffa village in Southern part of Borno.”
The Kwajaffa Development Association seized the opportunity of the press briefing to inform of its courtesy visit to Governor Zulum, in due course, in appreciation of his good work.
“This is moreso because we are not unaware that the governor has been in good picture of development in the village, as former Commissioner for Reconstruction and Rehabilitation during the administration of Governor Kassim Shattima.
“He knows the routes and we appreciate the cordial working relationship that exists between him and the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, which has reflected in the rapid restoration of normal life that we now experience in Borno State,” he said.
Kwajaffa is a district headquarters in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State and falls within the Biu Emirate in the state.
