Kunle Sanni hails UNIFEMBA’s donation of Jumat mosque to Oyo community
Chairman, Muslim Community of Oyo State, Alhaji Is-haq Kunle Sanni, has commended the kind gesture of Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) for donating an ultra-modern mosque to a rural community in the state.
The reconstructed mosque was built for the spiritual upliftment of the Araromi Idowu Muslim community, Ibadan in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Sanni, who commissioned the Central Mosque, urged other Muslim groups to emulate such a rewardable gesture and urged the community to make judicious use of the house of Allah.
He said that UNIFEMGA Ibadan chapter, through its rural da’awah activities, has imparted positively on the socio-economic and spiritual life of the dwellers in the community.
The Islamic leader, who was touched by the way the foremost Muslim alumni imparted on the lives of the rural dwellers, tasked other groups and government at the grassroots level to assist the less privileged in the society.
On the political scene, he appealed to the people to get registered as voters ahead of the forthcoming general elections by electing credible people that will impact on their lives positively.
Speaking in the same vein, the National President of UNIFEMGA, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odeyimka urged the villagers to ensure adequate education of their children by attending the free Islamic school within the Mosque complex as well as the conventional schools in the community.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Ibadan chapter, Alhaji Munir Ademola said the construction of the new mosque, which was done within two months, was part of the association rural Daawah programmes.
“As you know, we are all professionals in our own right, but as faith-based group, we go from one rural area to another and identify their needs and see how we can touch their lives in our own little way’’ he said.
Ademola said apart from guiding people back to the path of Allah, “UNIFEMGA involves in provision of water through drilling of boreholes, medical facilities and treatment, mosque development, economic empowerment and provision of agricultural skills and training.”
Both the elated Baale and Imam of the Araromi Idowu Community as well as their women group, in their various speeches thanked UNIFEMGA for the provision of the Mosque edifice with a borehole water.
