Kayode Fayemi election victory indication Nigerians, not Obasanjo will rescue Nigeria – Canada-based Group
“The result of the election is a clear indication that Nigerians are tired of looters and powers behind them in politics and they are ready to put all of them where they belong in 2019 election. People of Ekiti State have proved it to the world that they don’t need the like of Buba Galadima of Reform All People Congress or Uche Secondus of PDP or former President Obasanjo CUPP to rescue the country from the deliberately created problem by criminals in politics.”
The victory of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi in Saturday July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State is an indication that the end of looters and power behind them is fast approaching in Nigeria, said by Battles Against Corruption in Nigeria Group (BACN).
Reacting to the victory of the former Minister of Mines and Steel, the Ontario, Canada-based anti-corruption organisation said the Ekiti State people have proved to the corrupt politicians and their allies that there is no more accommodation for corruption in their state by voting for Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the next governor of their state.
In the a statement signed by the President of the group, Mr. Waheed Seriki, sent to The DEFENDER on Sunday, the Battles Against Corruption in Nigeria Grouup said, “Despite all efforts of the incumbent governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Fayose to rig the last Saturday election in favour of his boy Eleka, the people of Ekiti State overwhelmingly voted for Dr. Fayemi as their next governor and kicked Fayose and his surrogate out of Ekiti Government House.
“The result of the election is a clear indication that Nigerians are tired of looters and powers behind them in politics and they are ready to put all of them where they belong in 2019 election.
“People of Ekiti State have proved it to the world that they don’t need the like of Buba Galadima of Reform All People Congress or Uche Secondus of PDP or former President Obasanjo CUPP to rescue the country from the deliberately created problem by criminals in politics.
“Ekiti election was a signal that Nigerians are more matured and determined than before to rescue themselves from poverty, hunger and starvation by giving their mandate to original All People Congress (APC) under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to continue his good work and rescue the country from the enemies of Nigeria and then develop and lead Nigeria to promised land.
“The Battles Against Corruption in Nigeria group congratulates Dr. Kayode Fayemi on his victory in Saturday governorship election. He should realise that Ekiti people voted for him on the promise that APC comes to existence to eradicate corruption in Nigeria and brings positive change that will transform Nigeria into social, political and economic development.
“Dr. Kayode Fayemi should always have the vision and mission of APC in mind whenever he is discharging his duty as the executive governor of Ekiti State.
“Once again, I congratulate the people of Ekiti State for voting for Kayode Fayemi as their next governor and not waiting for Olusegun Obasanjo to come and do its insincere rescue their state, despite the monetary temptation, harassment and intimidation of the incumbent governor Fayemi to force them to vote for his surrogate as his successor,” it said.
