Kano stands still as Buhari bigins 2-day visit

Kano State is already agog with everywhere standing still as President Muhammad Buhari begins his 2-day visit to the state on Wednesday.

Buhari, is visiting Kano for the first time since his election and assumption of office on May 29, 2015, is expected to commission some multi-billion naira projects including two general hospitals, underpass and a 21.1 kilometer dual road, during the visit.

The president will equally lay the foundation of the famous Kano Economic City and inspect 2,000 affordable housing units constructed by Ganduje-led administration.

In the meantime, the Government of Kano State has beefed up security, with many security agents including soldiers, police, civil defence, KAROTA, Hisbah, FRSC stationed at various places such as roundabouts, junctions and major streets.

The security agents were also cited manning strategic areas of the city, as all major roads leading to Government House from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport were blocked by security operatives.

Business activities were paralised as shops and others places of businesses were locked.

Meanwhile, the Emir, Muhammad Sanusi II, on Tuesday warned youths in the state to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, warning that anyone who displays unethical conduct would be dealt with.

The royal father also cautioned youths to rather remain at home than to attempt to cause mayhem during the President’s visit.
