Jimoh Ibrahim wins Ondo APC senatorial ticket

Publisher of defunct National Mirror Newspapers, Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for Ondo South.

Ibrahim polled 190 votes to defeat four other aspirants in the primary held in Okitipupa, headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area Saturday night.

Mathew Oyerinmade, who was believed to have the structure to win the primary, had 92 votes, Boye Oyewunmi scored 23 votes, Morayo Lebi had nine votes while Ambassador Sola Iji also had nine votes.

While thanking the delegates for their belief in his capacity to fly the party’s flag in 2023, Ibrahim said he will not let them down.

Ibrahim said his first move at the Senate would be the move for a state of emergency on power supply to the district.
