Iran will not surrender to US pressure over nuclear talks – Pezeshkian
The exchange underscores renewed strains between Tehran and Washington as talks over Iran’s nuclear programme continue.
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has declared that Tehran will not bow to pressure from the United States over the ongoing nuclear negotiations.
The Iranian president’s declaration comes after US President Donald Trump warned on Thursday that ‘bad things’ will happen if Iran fails to reach a deal within 15 days.
Speaking amid heightened tensions between the two countries, Pezeshkian said Iran would not negotiate under threats or coercion and insisted that any agreement must respect the nation’s rights and interests.
Trump’s comments have added urgency to diplomatic efforts aimed at reviving or reshaping a nuclear agreement, with Washington signaling that time is running out for Tehran to comply with its demands.
