Iran reportedly reigns drones on BAPCO refinery, missiles on US military bases in Bahrain, others
Another media source had it that Iran struck the BAPCO oil refinery in Bahrain while launching missile and drone attacks against U.S. military assets in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq.
Iranian state media outlets, according to Turkey Today, reported Friday July 17, 2026 that drones had directly struck oil refineries and United States of America’s military positions in Bahrain, citing unnamed “Arab sources.”
The claim has not been confirmed by Bahraini authorities, the U.S. military, or any source independent of Iranian media, though it is not in the culture of America and Israel to allow media broadcast or print report of how they are suffering defeats from Iran, a country they both woke up night of February 28, 2026 amidst negotiation meetings and jointly launched indefensible military attacks upon killing several number of school children.
According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, unnamed Arab sources reported that oil refineries and U.S. military bases in Bahrain were targeted in a direct drone attack.
A near-identical report from Sepah News, the public affairs outlet of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said, “Arab news sources have reported a direct drone attack on U.S. oil facilities and military bases in Bahrain. In these attacks, oil refineries and American military positions were targeted.”
Bahrain, which is home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, has been repeatedly targeted in the escalating exchange of attacks between Iran and the United States in recent days, with Bahraini authorities activating air raid sirens and reporting interceptions on multiple occasions this week.
Bahrain’s state oil company, BAPCO, has not issued any statement regarding the claimed drone attacks.
Sirens sounded in Bahrain early as regional tensions continued to escalate amid an exchange of attacks between Iran and the U.S..
“The siren has been sounded. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the Interior Ministry said on the U.S. social media platform X.
The ministry did not provide a reason for activating the sirens.
The alert came after the U.S. launched a new wave of offensive strikes against Iran, marking the sixth consecutive night of US military operations targeting Iranian military assets.
Another media source had it that Iran struck the BAPCO oil refinery in Bahrain while launching missile and drone attacks against U.S. military assets in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq.
Iranian drones also reportedly destroyed a $5 million U.S. HIMARS launcher in Kuwait, marking Tehran’s largest coordinated assault since the collapse of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Specifically in Qatar, reports claim Iranian missiles struck Al Duhail Camp on the outskirts of Doha, with loud explosions reported across the capital.
In Bahrain, reports also claim missiles hit Hamala Camp, which houses U.S. forces, as well as another U.S. military installation. Two U.S. AH-64 Apache helicopters were seen operating over Bahrain during the latest drone attacks.
Arabic media further reports an Iranian missile struck the King Fahd Causeway linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, with ambulances and emergency crews dispatched to the scene.
The offensive follows heavy U.S. strikes across southern Iran, where Iranian state media says American forces targeted six civilian bridges, a major railway station, a telecommunications tower, and a civilian airport in Hormozgan Province and Chabahar. The strikes reportedly killed and injured civilians and severed key transport links around Bandar Abbas.
The attacks came just hours after the IRGC warned that any U.S. strike on Iranian infrastructure would be met with the destruction of “every last piece of infrastructure” across the region, while the Houthis reiterated threats to shut the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have recently escalated regarding the Strait of Hormuz, with the two sides exchanging attacks despite signing a Pakistan-mediated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the conflict and reaching a lasting peace agreement.
