How Tinubu’s defenders labour hard to criminalise, call complaining hungry Nigerians ‘wailers’ on social media

By KEMI KASUMU

Thank you for taking your time to read. My fellow Yoruba who know the above truths and are acclaimed church goers or mosque goers are blindly supporting the same man to the point that people who are badly hit by his bad governance complain and they call them wailers.

The state of the nation in Nigeria appears to have a different nature from what it is in the developed world called abroad.

In the United States of America and United Kingdom, for example, any little feel of inconvenience or hardship the public erupts into protest because, that is the only legal right they have to make their feelings known to those they voted into power as their rulers and that is why, whether the leaders accept the genuineness of those protests or not, they always don’t deviate far from doing what is right for their people.

But sadly in Nigeria, one ardent supporter of the current Bola Tinubu’s administration has dismissed fellow Nigerian people, who complain about over one-year-old hardship imposed on them by his administration, as mere wailers.

While his name will be protected for now, this is in his words: “Nigerian wailers continue to insist the Tinubu administration “has not done anything and is not really doing anything”. To them, it is the waves of the Atlantic Ocean that is making it look like there is an on-going road construction called the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. It is not any contractor doing anything along the coast, as “the APC and its uninformed supporters who are blinded by hatred for Nigeria” has been telling Nigerians.”

Then the debate started here:

Dont mind them – Kenny Laleye

In his comment to the Facebook post, Kenny Laleye, another Tinubu supporter, said: “Don’t mind them sir. Let’s wait till the end of four years and show them progress. Some people that you thought could think rationally because of their level of education are suggesting with their comments that one year is enough to fix Nigeria’s problem created for over five decades. That’s hilarious.”

A counter

Laleye was countered by a felliw Yoruba man with mind of his own who said: “But the man you are supporting has told us one year is enough fix the most difficult electricity that he now claims has been fixed. He posted somewhere that for the past 3 weeks power supply has been 24 hours no stopping.”

Jagaban 4+4 – Lukayode Thomas

Olukayode Thomas , a Tinubu’s supporter, said: “Don’t mind awon elegan, for their korokoro eyes a new Nigeria will emerge under Jagaban , Awalokan fun odun mejo.”

Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway? – Ayo Oyewusi

Ayo Oyewusi asked, “Im surprised you still use the Lagos Calabar coastal highway as an example. It was not initiated by Tinubu. You know it has been in the pipeline, as has Dangote’s refinery for many years, and long before Tinubu.

What people rightly look at are the mis governance which affects their lives. The coastal highway does not impact anyone’s life in the short term. People only judge a government by the benefits they get from it.

The devaluation of the Naira and the removal of subsidies are real issues which affects everyday living and it is on such policies that people would judge the government. This is negative, so far.

Inflation is at an all-time high, unemployment is high, insecurity is still an issue, infrastructure are still horrible, transportation is dire, electricity is still rationed, healthcare is rubbish, roads are still bad, I could go on.

People don’t judge a government by issues which don’t touch them directly. This is why the Nigerian walkers would continue to insist that Tinubj administration “has done nothing and is not really doing anything’s but buying jets and yatchs.”

A counter

Countering Ayo Oyewusi, O’seun Ogunseita said, “Ayo Oyewusi Ayo, I guess you are suggesting the removal of fuel subsidy was never planned, yet you regularly say Tinubu protested against it in 2012. I think it is ridiculous that you are saying, because something was ever in the pipeline, it was not executed by the person who executed it. Since there is also a wish and plan that all children will be graduates, we might as well give them all Certificates of graduation at their naming ceremony.

We might as well then say Alh Jakande built the Blue and Red lines of the Lagos Metro since he planned and actually started one, that was stopped by the military. General showing built all our refineries so CE they were planned in the first and Second National Development Plans.

You might as well say Chief Obafemi Awolowo constructed the Mile 2 – Badagry Expressway and the Ring Road now being built around Ibadan, because the Awolowo Premiership of the Western Region planned them almost 70 years ago. Hopefully you can see how ridiculous your argument is.”

And Ogunseitan was backed by his fellow Tinubu’s supporters, Kelly Laleye, who wroted: “And that’s why no government has been able to make long term investments since the new democratic dispensation and which is now telling on our economy.

On the contrary I will salute Tinubu’s for taking the bold and unpopular step in investing in such a long term project even if it’s unpopular.

Lack of vision is the only reason why people shy away from long term investments which are the reasons for real economic advancements like we have America, Europe and Asia.”

Your teacher judges your academic performance in first year – Nik Ogbulie

Nik Ogbulie said: “When a child starts flugging his courses from first year, his academic adviser does not have to wait for four years before advising him appropriately; he gets a forced withdrawal or may change to Chicago or Toronto.”

Uchenna Uchenna , simply responded by quoting the words of Dike Chukwumerije, who daid: “Nobody who steals political power uses it for the good of the people.”

Tinubu’s achievement – Tunde Bello

Another supporter of Tinubu, Tunde Bello, listed as part of his achievements, student loans: “What about student loans? They have not seen anything. A lot is going on, trying to reshape Nigeria into a truly progressive nation. They said Lagos is not Nigeria. It is the model and template of Lagos, all are using to develop their state.”

How is Lagos under Tinubu a model for Nigeria – A counter

“Tunde Bello Why is your man not developing his Osun State but insists on developing Lagos that you say is model for Nigeria? I think he left office since 2007. What model is in engendering of thugs and hoodlums as more powerful than constitutional police please? And real Lagos indigenes and owners of the land have been saying they must take back their state. Does it occur to you something is not right somewhere?”

Episode 2:

“For almost 3 weeks, it has been 24hours light non stop. My Gen is on sabbatical leave. How is it in your area.” Posted O’seun Ogunseitan

Debate starts here:

Charles Monwuba wrote: “Wait till the dry season before you sell your gen.”

Sola Fasure wrote: This is the period every year of the lowest demand, when most air conditioners and fans are shut off, when there is water to power the hydro turbines and gas flow to the thermal stations is smooth.

Then off course, the jacking up of the tariff has forced most household to cut down drastically on consumption.
To the best of my knowledge, no new production has been added to the national grid.

What we have therefore is a drastic cut in consumption, not an increase in supply. Even then, this honeymoon will be over as it happens every year when the dry season comes.

It is an empirical validation of the shrinking of our economy, for which we should all be alarmed and crying to God for mercy.

It is not something to be celebrated.

Rather, it’s like a father who who did not buy food or pay his children’s school fees but is now shamefully celebrating that he has made some savings in his expenses.

O’seun Ogunseita buttressed his post: Sola Fasure Contrary to your opinion some people even on this thread say electricity supply to their area has never been worse. Also sir, if epileptic power supply had always been seasonal, there would have been a period of regular stable and steady supply leaving nobody to be saying power supply is epileptic in Nigeria as if there is no season of steady, stable and reliable supply.  Finally sir, we have long since been relying more on gas-powered thermalpowrr generating stations than hydro-power stations that are affected by how much rains or less rains we have supplying the river sources.

Ayode Longe backed Sola Fasure : Sola Fasure You are very correct joor. This last two months have been rather cold and as a result I have not been using fan and air conditioners. Plus band A has thought some of us to be prudent with electricity usage.

Tunde Bello: Sola Fasure
Very well said. Don’t mind all these APC propagandists.

Yusuf Ibrahim: My area  still experiencing blackout.

Under Buhari at Games Village we had 20 hours supply but that has changed under Tinubu – Dolapo Bright

Dolapo Bright wrote: It is interesting reading some comments here praising the power minister.

At Games Village Abuja I lived for three years, till February 2023, we had more than 20 hrs per day. In fact, for weeks I never used generator. I never bothered to buy and install solar backup. I moved from Games Village to another estate in Abuja noted for having electricity at least 20 hours a day. We enjoyed the electricity apart from the tripping off our power for a minute or two which happened often.

Then came end of June 2023, we started having constant power outages as time went on, we had only between 12hr-15hrs. In recent times, we have about 15hr-18hr. Since I am retired and I am home all day, I used the generator buying petrol at N1000 per ltr. Because of constant use, I need to get a new generator. To replace the same type of my made in Japan generator, the price three months ago was N1.2m. I bought the generator in 2016 for N180,000.

In my Lagos residence at Ilupeju estate, we have always had good power supply, at least 20hrs a day. I hardly use my generator. In fact, I gave one out for lack of use. Then came this administration, suddenly we started having power failures. Since I come to Lagos once in a while, I get information from my guard and neighbours. Today, we are in band A paying over N200 per unit for what we paid about N60 for for years getting over 20hrs power per day. Upon the over N200, we still have sometimes more than 12hrs of no electricity because of grid collapse. We have had around 6 this year alone.

With the over N200 per unit, my neighbours at Ilupeju, the Indians are complaining seriously. It has affected their home based business. Supermarkets are at the receiving end, with high cost of operation. Schools, especially those using air conditioning are groaning. Retirees, many living in Ilupeju are crying.

So, it is annoying reading the comments of praise for the minister.

Jeleel Adigun ‘s S.O.S.: What is our offense in Oshodi-Isolo ooo? That is Tinubu’s “Lagos”

Chris Ewanlen screamed: See how  Nigerians have been oppressed by their wicked and irresponsible leaders.
Common electricity that should be one of the basic benefits  in an oil producing country is now celeberated in 21st century Nigeria.
What a country!
Shouldn’t every state in Nigeria  enjoy 24/7 electricity?

Responding to Chris Ewanlem, O’seun Ogunseitan sent in a killer:

He said: Chris Ewanlen You expect electricity supply to be regular to a country of 220 million people who are not productive on any other thing beyond consistently breeding children and nothing else to export as contribution to the global economy. What exports would have paid for the electric power, when we are no longer even able to produce enough food for our teeming population and now  borrowing to additionally be importing food. How much electric power do men need to get women pregnant? Bro regular electricity can only come to a productive population because only an economically productive nation can afford and pay for regular electricity supply.

Steven Denen wrote from Iju, Lagos: I didn’t use my gen between 2019 to December 2023 because we’re having at least 19-20 hours of electricity supply per day at iju area of Lagos…but now I spend at least N8000 weekly on gen fuel because we don’t have even 4 hours of power supply per day..
therefore I can confidently say there’s no progress made..in fact we have moved backwards..

O’seun in furtherance to his making hard effort to defence his Tinubu’s achievement replied Steven Denen:

He said: Steven Denen If your area was doing so well sir,  when Nigeria was not doing well in terms of electricity supply, but now doing very badly when the rest of the country is now doing better in power supply, it should be obvious to you that you most likely have local problems you need to resolve first.

I suspect sir, that you were probably never paying appropriate charges in the areas you say now have worse per supply, possibly only bribing officials of DISCOs or mostly using estimated billings for the few persons being billed and to whom most other persons in the areas are fraudulently claiming connections.

Your areas therefore effectively had very few customers officially on record as electricity consumers, possibly from too low a number of persons with official Meters, so no DISCO will have any good reasons now to reckon with Bill payments in the areas now, that every part of the country where consumers are paying appropriate bills with Meters, is being targeted for every payment possible by the DISCOs.

Kenny Laleye , the ardent Tinubu’s supporter, still comes on this Episode 2 saying:

We have been having almost 24/7 power supply in my area for over a month or even more now. The power minister is definitely doing a lot of things right. Salute!

The adamant counter by Ayo Oyewusi too would not leave:

Ayo said: You’re still using a generator? Perhaps you would be better to go solar for when you bubble burst.

Hadji Sa’ad Baban Biu sent a bomber: Dry season will soon be here and we will know how to clap for you and Tinubu.

Bamidele Johnson said: Three weeks? Except for when our transformer went bad in May (a new one was brought in ten days), my generators have been on a far longer recess than NASS. I don’t remember the last time I bought fuel in a keg. I had them serviced last week just in case

Olayinka Junaid said: 24/7 power supply, infact the present government has done it

Sunday Orisakwe : Two days on no electricity,
Sick nepa people.

Episode 3:

“Stop misleading the younger ones. Those who are doing three, four or five jobs abroad, where “life is even easier to live”, are not crazy or hate sleeping. We cannot be working for six hours a day here, and be hoping to earn enough to take care of 24 hours, without crazy charges and attendant high cost of living. Stop the blame game and let’s get real with solving the problems. Farming and food processing are ready 2nd and 3rd jobs.” – O’seun Ogunseitan

Debate begins here:

Nobody has come to speak but an out of social media comment said it is bad way for Tinubu’s propagandist to sel their principal as Nigerians who do more than one job abroad are far more comfortable and happier than Nigerians at home he claimed must not expect to earn good life because they work only for 6 hours.

EPISODE 4:

“I bought a 45amps battery at N22k last year May. Today, I bought the same battery at N45k. Oga Edun and Kodoso una do well o.” – Isaac Adewale Fabiyi

Debates starts here:

An angry Nigerian speaks on this and takes poster beyond back to Lagos

A comment: “Olowojola Caleb and O’seun Ogunseitan can explain why this is not a problem to scream about. This is because Jayeola Mayor , Tolulope Fasakin , Uche Diala , Bose Adelaja , Idris Ahmad and Henry Eduwaye witnessed where they made serious effort to call people who talked like you wailers for not seeing the good, great things and achievements Tinubu has done. They even approved enlistment of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highwaywau that we all now was done deliberaberately for him in furtherance of his land reclamation to further imposed his grip on a patrimony of a Lagos State he knows inside his mind he has no constitutional right to claim. To defend himself he commissions some conscienceless  newspapers’ columnists and editors to write to prove why Lagos indigenes who want to take back their Lagos from him are far-right for doing so. Those writers present Lagos indigenes as hating non-indigenes for saying enough of the deprivation is and marginalisation in their own land. Among people he commissioned are my fellow non-indigenes from other South West states (Yoruba) who are staging indefensible #IgbosMustLeaveLagos campaign. But the Lagos indigenes say no, neither Igbo no people from any other tribe in Nigeria must go as Igbos are “not our problem” but Yorubas from other South West states.  And they make themselves clear that South West Yoruba who support the evils that have been perpetrated against them on their patrimony for the 24 years Afenifere – through AD had stolen their Funsho Williams votes using Ikorodu and Ikeja to get to power.

Because a lot of people don’t know as they say what were Lagos indigenes looking at when Tinubu became their governor. Afenifere was Yoruba socio-cultural organisation who painted the idea that AD “is our own Yoruba party” and did anything to make it win all Yoruba States with their eyes mainly focused on Lagos. But did they mean well for people Lagos? With which candidate were they doing that? Tinubu, who used Obanikoro and Afikuyomi to upturn the votes in Ikorodu and Ikeja to present to an already sentimental Yoruba Land that Lagos indigenes’ votes unquestionable over 700,000 votes (left after the unholy rigging of Ikorodu and Ikeja) could not produce a PDP governor whereas, up till today, their Tinubu’s 1million votes remain indefensible.

Well those who call him mafia know for themselves. It explains why the same Obanikoro was aimed at in the assassination attempt that took place when as PDP govership candidate in 2007 he planned to succeed Tinubu but was saved by General Tajudeen Olanrewaju.  How? A matter of another day.

Thank you for taking your time to read. My fellow Yoruba who know the above truths and are acclaimed church goers or mosque goers are blindly supporting the same man to the point that people who are badly hit by his bad governance complain and they call them wailers.

Finally, their principal through his IGP and CDS have said “We have arrested foreign sponsors of these protesters”. Eeeh! Like they are Boko Haram now being sponsored from abroad? Do you need foreign sponsors from abroad to protest against hunger and hardship? But you heard your Lagos CP saying “I am here with you and I can even give you money for food and water” saying to protesters ar Ojota. If the kind of sponsors like that you arrest abroad, then I give kudos to Olowojola and others who say you are the best. Yemi Akinpelu Good morning.”

Victor Ovedhe  wrote: “Had if been you know, you for buy two last year, use one and keep the other…..maybe you buy two this year and keep one just in case you need it next year again… Lol”

Isaac Adewale Fabiyi  replied: I tell you bro. I would have bought 2 last year o. One would have just been reserved as back up. Chai!

Olowojola Caleb , an educated Tinubu’s supporter, wrote: “Some months ago, a locally produced crate of tomatoes sold as high as 120k. Today, it is 15k. The cry had gone down. Till date, most of these batteries are imported and Forex plays important role in their prices. You can’t buy high and sell cheap….
Your haranguing about Lagos politics I don’t understand. Before, I disliked Tinubu based on third hands information. Today, I love him based on what I’ve seen him done and I believe he meant well for this country. Others like you can have a dissenting view. That’s why we are humans; we can’t all sleep and face this same direction.”

Isaac replied Olowojola Caleb: Olowojola Caleb please remove this your lie from my page o. Take it to your WhatsApp group. Where did you see a basket of tomatoes coming down from N120k to N15k?

Tolulope wrote: Surfer, surfer for world enjoyment for heaven. Maybe this is what Nigerians want.

Where do you see tomatoes 15k for basket. My wife went to Ilepo market yesterday. We need to stop all this and join hands to speak the truth.

Uzoma Chilaka wrote: All these put together affect the cost of goods and services.

Dele Olagunju wrote: Elofokanbale. 😁

Tinubu’s supporter, Olalekan Odudanya wrote: Inflation is dropping my brother.

Isaac Adewale Fabiyi replied Odusanya: Olalekan Odusanya and this example I gave really shows that prices are dropping Sebi?
