*Vows to keep Nigeria together at all cost

“All that President Muhammadu Buhari needs to do now is to assert his political will. If, despite those elements’ plots led by Olusegun Obasanjo and their foreign collaborators and international conspiracies, we repeated what we did in 2015 by making you President again in 2019 to their defeat, you will be insulting our sensibilities to think that if you act against them they have an evil they can do to you or your government. We remain with you but vindicate us by moving against them now!” A major Buharist spoke under condition of anonymity.
The Presidency may have finally risen to the challenges currently steering the Nigerian State in the face and have for some times now threatened its corporate existence as a result of resurgent insecurity in North East, which has now escalated to the North West, South West and South East in form of banditry, kidnapping and other criminalities thereby drifting the country towards a state of war.
It was speaking in a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, to tell Nigerians about its response to the recent security alert by the Department of State Services (DSS), copy of which sent to The DEFENDER.
This online newspaper reported some 72 hours ago that the DSS, precisely on Sunday, alerted on sinister moves by misguided elements to wreak havoc on the government, sovereignty and corporate existence of the country.
“Championed by some disgruntled religious and past political leaders,” the Presidency said, “the intention is to eventually throw the country into a tailspin, which would compel a forceful and undemocratic change of leadership.”
It continued, “Further unimpeachable evidence shows that these disruptive elements are now recruiting the leadership of some ethnic groups and politicians round the country, with the intention of convening some sort of conference, where a vote of no confidence would be passed on the President, thus throwing the land into further turmoil.
“The caterwauling, in recent times, by these elements, is to prepare the grounds adequately for their ignoble intentions, which are designed to cause further grief for the country.
“The agent provocateurs hope to achieve through artifice and sleight of hands, what they failed to do through the ballot box in the 2019 elections.
“Nigerians have opted for democratic rule, and the only accepted way to change a democratically elected government is through elections, which hold at prescribed times in the country. Any other way is patently illegal, and even treasonable. Of course, such would attract the necessary consequences.
“These discredited individuals and groups are also in cahoots with external forces to cause maximum damage in their own country. But the Presidency, already vested with mandate and authority by Nigerians till 2023, pledges to keep the country together, even if some unruly feathers would be ruffled in the process,” the Administration said in the Femi Adesina’s statement.
In the meantime, the President has been advised to move against those “disgruntled religious and past political leaders” now because he still has but little time to act to strengthen the sustained confidence and goodwills of the people by deleting from the way those trying to block his good work from showing.

He was also told to address the grievances of his Northern people too because, according to the source, those are the people he will live the rest of his life with, while continuing to ensure fairness to all Nigerians across board.
