How ADA’s Presidential Candidate will emerge – Kenneth Okonkwo

“The ADA is not just another political party. We are a movement. Our candidate must reflect the aspirations of everyday Nigerians,” Okonkwo said.
Nollywood actor and political activist Kenneth Okonkwo has unveiled the internal structure of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), a newly emerging political movement aimed at challenging existing power structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

This finally dismantled a recent newspaper report aiming to confuse Nigerians about the distinction of ADA, linking the new party with President Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) as its major enabler.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Kenneth Okonkwo, also a lawyer, revealed that ADA, a completely different political party emerging, will adopt a hybrid approach to producing its presidential candidate, combining grassroots primaries with zonal consensus building.
He emphasized that the process will be transparent, people-driven, and unlike the internal democracy flaws often seen in major parties.
According to him, the party will conduct a screening of aspirants based on integrity, grassroots appeal, and performance in public debates.
“The ADA is not just another political party. We are a movement. Our candidate must reflect the aspirations of everyday Nigerians,” Okonkwo said.
He added that ADA will also prioritize youth inclusion, with 60% of party leadership roles reserved for people under 45. Women’s participation is also high on the agenda.
The party is currently awaiting final registration from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), but nationwide mobilization efforts are already underway.
