Gov Bagudu visits rescued Yauri students in hospital
The Kebbi State Government, has assured parents of the kidnapped students of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri and staff that, efforts were being intensified by the State Government to ensure their safe rescue.
The State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu, gave the assurance when he visited the school students, school management to commiserate with the staff and parents on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the people and Government of Kebbi State.
Governor Atiku Bagudu, said government would do everything possible to bring back the children and the staff back safely.
He said, all hands are on the deck to ensure that, the kidnapped victims are rescued.
“The abduction was unfortunate and a tragic incident where bandits confronted the policemen who were providing security to the school and overpowering them and made away with some students and Teachers”. The Governor stated.
The Governor commended the efforts of security agents for repelling the attack at the school, especially the state Commissioner of Police who deployed no fewer than twenty-two of the personnel from the Special Anti Terrorism Task Force to the school.
The Principal of the College, Alhaji Yusuf described the incident as unfortunate and expressed hope that, the abductees will be rescued and brought back unhurt.
He revealed that, It was agreed that if security can be stationed at the school, to enable the children to finish their examinations before going home.
The number of the abducted students are yet to be ascertained. RN
