Vanguard’s EiC, Gbenga Adefaye, named Provost of NIJ

Mr Gbenga Adefaye, the General Manager/Editor-in-Chief of Vanguard Media Limited, has been appointed as Provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, Ikeja.

A statement signed in Lagos on Monday by Chairman, Governing Council of the monotechnic institution and former Governor of Ogun State Chief Segun Osoba, said Adefaye would serve as Provost with effect from September 1, 2020 pending the appointment of a new Provost.

He succeeds the former Provost, Mr Gbemiga Oluleye, who has served out his term meritoriously.

Adefaye, a former two-term President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NDE), once served as member of Governing Council of the University of Lagos.

Diploma-awarding institution was established in 1963 by the International Press Institute (IPI).
