This was disclosed by the immediate past presidential media and publicity adviser to the President as posted on his Facebook social media timeline on Saturday.

According to information provided by the post, former President Buhari, in the Foreword to Adesina’s new book, ‘Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity,’ endorsed the forthcoming book as one way to combat revisionism and set records straight especially about his eight years of leadership to Nigeria, as he urged that “A country have records, to protect its history”.

The Daura, Katsina State-born former President endorsed not just the book but also gingered for its wider relevance as he described the author as a loyal aide, “who gave his all to serve me, and serve the country,” adding that, “I salute his dedication, patriotism and steadfastness.”

The President said in details: “If anyone qualifies to write about our service to our country for 8 years (2015-2023), Femi Adesina does. Because he was there from the beginning to the end.

“I am glad that he has put together this book on working with me, as we rendered service to our country. It is one way to combat revisionism and set records straight. A country must have records, to protect its history.

“I am also quite glad that Adesina has asked me to write the Foreword to this book. It’s the least I could do for a loyal aide, who gave his all to serve me, and serve the country. I salute his dedication, patriotism and steadfastness.

“He says, he is writing about the “software, and not the hardware” of the Buhari administration. Very interesting. Yes, he sat with me many times, both in the office, and at home, and so he heard and observed many things not generally known. He has chronicled them in this book. I am impressed by his memory and sense of duty.

“‘Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity’ is a book I’m delighted to read. And I believe all those who read it will even find much more pleasure, as they go throough this very stimulating, and detailed memoir.

“Thank you Adesina for this service not just to Buhari, but to our country at large,” President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, (January 1984 – August 1985; May 29, 2015 – May 29, 2023) appreciated the senior aide for the two-term tenure, for helping to put things together covering the civilian rule part of his administrations of Nigeria for proper guidance of the public.

The DEFENDER recalls that former President Buhari once thanked Dr. Femi Adesina ‘for holding fast against mischief makers’, during his days in office when he battled with a kind of health challenge he said had been strange as, according to him, “I have never been this sick.”
