FCT police ban use of fireworks, explosives at Christmas
The Commissioner of Police in charge of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammad Mustapha, has warned residents of the Federal capital against the use of fireworks and knockouts during this year’s festive period.
He said the fireworks and knockouts heightened fear and created conducive environment for crime to thrive.
In a statement by the FCT Police Command’s public relations officer (PPRO), ASP Anjuguri Manzah, the CP urged parents and guardians to caution their children and wards, saying anybody found flouting the order would be prosecuted.
Meanwhile, the police commissioner had assured residents of adequate security during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He said, “The command has put in place adequate security measures that will see to the seamless celebration of the Christmas and New Year.’’
