When Fayose has no say over who campaigns for Buhari in Ekiti, as Orji Kalu says campaigns for President’s 2nd term in state, says Governor “my boy”

*I have declared war on Fayose, he can’t win me on anything – Kalu

“So, some people are out to destabilise his government. We want Nigerians to embrace love, peace and show understanding,” Kalu advised.  On the July 14 governorship poll, Kalu urged Ekiti delegates to vote wisely, by voting an aspirant who has the political network and dexterity to defeat Fayose.“You need to work very hard because President Buhari doesn’t believe in rigging. I am ready to support whoever you bring up as candidate here in Ekiti for the July 14 election, because I am part of you.”

Governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose, saying former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia State should not enter his state on his peace mission across the country may have shot himself once again in the foot.

This is because, his threat to the main cross-country campaigner for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term has failed to hold as Orji Kalu went ahead on Sunday, entered Ekiti and campaigned for Buhari’s re-election without Fayose being able to utter a word.

But why should Fayose push his powers that too far, knowing that his uncountered wars for the larger part of the life of administration of stomach infrastructure against a man and a party who can determine his life and death are suicidal in nature?  Some watchers of events have asked.

One of them said, “Sometimes we look at Governor Ayodele Fayose as deliberately engaging in suicide mission and it is understandable.  Against what Jide Kolade-Otitoju said on Journalists’ Hangout of TVC saying Fayose is a very strong person to be as 2018 gubernatorial polls approach, the governor is as light as a stick of feather.  He is only doing all of these, either relying on fetishism or just wanting to hang his fate on who will help him bury it finally being that he has no hope of survival having over-gathered post-government troubles for himself.”

He added, “You know that President Muhammadu Buhari that you have so much disrespected can bury you alive without anything going to happen thereof, yet you don’t seem to love yourself at all.  If it were to be under your People’s Democratic Party’s government an opposition behaves like you to the President and to a ruling party, you surely know what could have happened.  I don’t need to mention how you could have used soldiers to arrest sitting governors and how you could have used the DSS to break into secretariats of main opposition party with a view to planting incriminating items within their offices in order to clampdown on their leaders and others just because you would want to remain in power.

“But since May 29, 2015 none of these evils has come to you from Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidency, neither has any come from his Federal Government nor from his governing party, yet, you have told many lies, sponsored many fake news and spread dangerous rumours against the President and the APC making Nigeria now look like lawless society.  It is therefore pushing one’s luck and exercising one’s powers too far for you to give orders that a former governor should not come to Ekiti on the peace visit he had planned.  You need to know that if Buhari and Kalu have been lawless personalities like you were during your days, you would be as good as gone by now.  But, never mind, they will never do anything bad to you.  You have been told by the President not to fear him but only fear the consequences of your own actions either of the past or the present.  It remains like that,” he concluded.

That came as the former Abia State Governor and the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the National Movement for the Re-election of President Buhari, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, defied Governor Ayodele Fayose and visited Ekiti State where he campaigned for a second term for President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday.

Kalu while speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti, also lambasted former President Olusegun Obasanjo for his negative criticisms of the Buhari government and asked Nigerians to ignore him.

Kalu had arrived in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, ignoring a call by Governor Fayose of the state that he was not welcome in Ekiti for an unexplained “peace advocacy visit” to the state.

Kalu said the statement that he was not welcome in Ekiti, credited to Governor Fayose was unfortunate and said that such was not expected from someone holding a high political office.

He said: “My attention was called from Ondo State on Saturday that Governor Fayose said I should not come to Ekiti.  Fayose is my boy.  He can’t stop me from coming.  He is my boy and he knows he can’t stop me on anything.

“Governor Fayose was in my house for 90 days after he was impeached. He is my friend but he has gone beyond his limit by saying a bonafide elder statesman like me should not come to Ekiti.

“Fayose was in my state, Abia last week.  Nobody said he should not come. So I have declared war on him.  Even if I sleep on the floor, I will still defeat Fayose on any issue.”

Taking swipes at ex-President Obasanjo for his uncomplimentary description of the current administration led by Buhari, Kalu said Chief Obasanjo was “the most incompetent to describe any government as being corrupt in the country.”

He said it was resentful for Obasanjo to have asked Buhari not to seek a second term in office, saying the former president lacked “the moral standing to stop a president that has been the most selfless in Nigeria’s history from contesting.”

He said Nigerians should ignore the criticisms of President Buhari and rather embrace his second term bid.
Kalu was received in the state by one of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in the state and former speaker, Mr Femi Bamisile.

Addressing the APC members at Bamisile’s home in Ado Ekiti, Kalu told the gathering that President Buhari was desirous to contest for second term and that no effort would be spared in achieving the goal.

He said: “Let me tell you emphatically that President Buhari will contest again. Don’t listen to letter writers like Obasanjo. Obasanjo has been president twice. So he should keep his letter in Otta for himself.

“That is why somebody like me is in Ekiti to tell our people not to listen to Obasanjo. He met the economy in comatose, today President

Buhari has raised the foreign reserve from $23 billion to as much as $47 billion dollars while the menace of Boko Haram has been defeated.

“So, some people are out to destabilise his government. We want Nigerians to embrace love, peace and show understanding,” Kalu advised.

On the July 14 governorship poll, Kalu urged Ekiti delegates to vote wisely, by voting an aspirant who has the political network and dexterity to defeat Fayose.

“You need to work very hard because President Buhari doesn’t believe in rigging. I am ready to support whoever you bring up as candidate here in Ekiti for the July 14 election, because I am part of you.

“If I am to choose for you, I will choose Bamisile, but this lies on Ekiti delegates. However, as a national leader of APC, I am ready to support whoever you bring up.

He promised to work hard to ensure that APC wins the 2018 poll so that the battle can be easy for the party in the 2019 presidential poll when Buhari will be re-contesting.
