Fashola to appear before N/Assembly panel over $174m ADB loan

The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola,is expected to appear before a joint committee of the National Assembly on Monday over the $174 million of the African Development Bank (ADB).

The country is seeking the loan to address the challenges in the country’s power sector. ADB experts are to take over the management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

A statement jointly signed by the chairman of the Senate committee on Power, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and his House counterpart, Daniel Asuquo, said Fashola was summoned to provide explanations on the matter.

The lawmakers also directed that the status quo ante in respect of the management of TCN be maintained.
