The governorship candidate of Advanced Allied Party (AAP) in the 2019 elections in Oyo State, Rev (Mrs) Adenike Victor-Tade, has launched out an aggressive campaign against Corona Virus, code-named as Covid-19 and distributed hygiene materials to the residents of the state.
Rev (Mrs) Victor-Tade kicked off the campaign at Oke-Ado market in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, where she, with the support of the other members of her team, sensitized the residents of the state about the reality of existence of Covid-19.
During the sensitization campaigns, Rev (Mrs) Victor-Tade informed the people about the signs of the infection of the viral disease and what to do when the symptoms of the epidemic were noticed in anybody, while asking them to take seriously and practise precautionary measures as regular washing of hands, coughing and sneezing on a bent or flexed elbow, maintaining high hygienic practice, social distancing, staying indoors, isolation and prompt report of suspected cases to the Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force designated helplines.
Going round the local governments in Ibadan for the sensitization campaign, Rev (Mrs) Victor-Tade a.k.a Mama Empowerment, in her characteristic selfless attribute, distributed hand-wash solvents, sanitizers, nose guards and other kits to the people of the metropolis to help them cope with the outbreak of the disease and protect themselves well.
While appreciating the efforts put in place against the pandemic by the government of Engr Seyi Makinde, the gubernatorial candidate of AAP in the March 9, 2019 election charged all well-to-do people and other politicians like her to show up and help the masses to fight against the pandemic to cope with the present situation, adding that foodstuff like gari and rice should be distributed free to the people to alleviate the hardship that might come with the War Against Covid-19 (WAC-19).
“A congo of gari and rice each to every family member could go a long way to relieve our people,” Rev (Mrs) Victor-Tade said, as she noted that people were suffering on account of the fact that their daily source of income had already been badly affected by the measures put in place by the government in the fight against the pandemic.
As Rev (Mrs) Adenike Victor-Tade carries on the sensitization campaigns against the pandemic, the local governments she had visited and planned to visit included but not limited to Ibadan North, Ibadan South West, Ibadan South East, Ido and Egbeda.
